OPPORTUNITIES FOR WATER BUSINESSES

Faith-based leaders of Brazilian and US origin are working on agreements to bring the water drilling rig as shown below to Ibadan. This would allow the creation of water enterprises to deliver water to industry and residential developments by truck delivery, pipe line and establishing water bottling businesses.

NEXT STEPS

After lying unused for 7 years due to an industrial accident, the rig, manufactured in 1986, is now scheduled to be restored November 2008. A new truck engine has been donated from the US. The donation includes transporting it to Brazil for installation. About US$10,000 is being raised to restore the unit to prime condition. All of the other parts necessary for the restoration are available locally in Brazil.

BACKGROUND AND VISION

The plan is to drill another dozen wells in Brazil in January and February 2009 before transporting it to Lagos from the city of Fortaleza.

The thought is to have Nigerian leaders with water drilling experience as selected by AGSVL to visit Brazil for training on how to use this machinery.

This will provide enough information as to the elements of a business plan to drill wells and, separately, to start and operate water companies in Oyo and surrounding states. The vision will be to drill wells westward from Nigeria to Senegal, setting up water companies along the way.

REPORT

All parties concerned are now working to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding to cover this enterprise. This is a project by World Mission Foundation, run by Portuguese speakers from Brazil who have become naturalized citizens of the United States in partnership with US businessmen and investors.

After wells are drilled in Nigeria, there is interest in bringing the rig east to Ghana and all the way to Senegal.
